SJB Refutes Media Reports on Committee to Merge with UNP
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Working Committee have dismissed as completely false the reports published by certain media outlets claiming that a committee headed by MP Kabir Hashim has been appointed by the SJB Working Committee to merge the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the United National Party (UNP). (Sri Lanka Latest News)

They emphasize that, at the most recent SJB Management Committee meeting, party leader Sajith Premadasa appointed a committee chaired by MP Kabir Hashim to prepare a report containing proposals on how the two parties could merge and to submit it to him.

In addition to MP Kabir Hashim, the committee includes MPs Mujibur Rahman and S. M. Marikkar.

Accordingly, the members of the Working Committee reiterate that the reports published by certain media organizations claiming that MP Kabir Hashim was appointed by the Working Committee to merge the SJB and the UNP are entirely baseless and false.
