Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Member of Parliament Chitral Fernando stated that the song “Rata Anurata” was played in place of the national anthem during the inauguration ceremonies of several local government institutions held on the 2nd of this month.
MP Fernando made this revelation during a discussion on Derana Debate Grounds. In response, Malima MP Najith Indika, who was also present at the debate, clarified that the decision to play the song instead of the national anthem was not made at Pelawatte.
