SJB and UNP Must Unite to Address Sri Lanka’s Challenges: Prema Ranjith Perera

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Sri Lanka’s strongest opposition party, and the United National Party (UNP), the country’s oldest political party, must come together at this critical juncture to address the nation’s pressing needs, emphasized Prema Ranjith Perera, the former Opposition Leader of the Kaduwela Municipal Council and Assistant Organizer for the SJB in the Kaduwela electorate.

Responding to recent speculation, Perera clarified that despite claims made by various parties about SJB candidates and members aligning with President Ranil Wickremesinghe, no one has left the Samagi Jana Balawegaya or Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

Speaking to the media today after a meeting with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa at his office, Perera reiterated the importance of unity between the SJB and the UNP. He called for the two parties to join forces and face the upcoming local government elections under Premadasa’s leadership.

“This unity is essential to rescue our motherland, which is currently heading towards an abyss due to a lack of proper governance. Together, we can steer the country in the right direction,” Perera asserted.

He urged both parties to prioritize the nation’s welfare and focus on forming a unified front to guide Sri Lanka through its challenges.
