The Department of Meteorology reports that several spells of showers are expected today (13) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northwestern provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.

According to the Department, showers or thundershowers are also likely to occur at a few locations in the Central and Uva provinces, and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts, particularly after 1:00 p.m.

Additionally, moderately strong winds, with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph, are expected at times in the Northern, North-Central, Northwestern, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee district.

The Department of Meteorology advises the public to take appropriate precautions to minimize risks associated with temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
