Shooting Incident in Katana: Former Pradeshiya Sabha Member Defends Himself

A shooting incident has been reported in the Katana area, Sri Lanka, according to local authorities.

The police confirmed that the incident occurred at approximately 7:10 PM today (22) in the Katiyana region of Katana.

Authorities revealed that a man had attempted to attack a businessman with a sharp weapon, but the situation escalated when the businessman, in self-defense, shot the assailant with a firearm he was carrying.

It has been confirmed by the police that the firearm used in the shooting was legally licensed. Tragically, the attacker succumbed to the gunshot wound.

Reports further indicate that the businessman involved in the shooting is a former Pradeshiya Sabha member.

This is the latest update on the incident.
