According to the instructions of Acting Inspector General of Police Mr Deshbandhu Tennakoon, a separate unit has been established to investigate religious offenses committed through social media networks. Sri Lanka Latest News

Commenting on this matter, Police Media Spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police Advocate Mr. Nihal Talduwa,

“The Acting Inspector General of Police gave orders and instructions to the Computer Crime Investigation Division to establish a separate unit to receive complaints regarding religious offences committed through social media networks.”

“Accordingly, a separate unit of the Criminal Investigation Division was established to investigate complaints related to insults to religions.”

Accordingly, the public can notify the related complaints through the phone number 0112 300 637.
