SDIG Ajith Rohana refuses to accept his transfer order and writes to the Ministry Secretary, claiming that the order is illegal!

Senior Deputy Inspector General of Southern Province Mr. Ajith Rohana has sent a letter to Mr. Viani Gunathilaka, the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security, informing that he is not ready to implement the illegal transfers given by the Ministry of Public Security.

This is after the announcement yesterday that 07 senior DIGs have been transferred with immediate effect due to service requirements.

There, Mr. Ajith Rohana has emphasized that the Public Security Ministry has no authority to approve transfers, there is no such thing as cover approval, and this is illegal, against the law, and has exceeded the authority.

Therefore, Mr. Ajith Rohana has informed in his letter that he will not accept this transfer order.

Yesterday Senior DIG Mr. Patinayake has been transferred from the Police Headquarters as the Senior DIG in charge of the Central Province.

Also, Senior DIG Priyantha Weerasuriya has been transferred from the position of Senior DIG in charge of Central Province to the position of Senior DIG Crime and Traffic.

Meanwhile, Senior DIG SP Medawatta has been transferred from the position of Senior DIG Assistant Services and Senior DIG in charge of North West Province to Senior DIG in charge of Southern Province.

Meanwhile, Senior DIG Mr. DK Jayalath has been appointed Senior DIG in charge of North West Province from the position of Senior DIG in charge of Eastern Province.

Also, Senior DIG RL Kodithuvakku has been transferred from Senior DIG Medical Services Welfare and Field Force to Senior DIG Assistant Services.

Senior DIG Mr. Ajith Rohana has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of Eastern Province from the position of Senior DIG in charge of Southern Province.

Meanwhile, Senior DIG Mr. DK Silva has been transferred from the position of Senior DIG Crime and Traffic to Senior DIG Medical Services, Welfare and Field Force.
