The Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa, stated today in Seruwila that a new national program aimed at eradicating poverty within 24 months will be implemented, providing a monthly grant of 20,000 rupees through a new initiative focused on consumption, investment, savings, production, and export.
Even though people have fallen into poverty due to inefficient government policies and mismanagement, it should not be permanent.
The people of our country, who live strong, independent lives without relying on anyone, will be freed from the bondage of poverty.
A national program is being implemented to eradicate poverty within 24 months by giving a provision of 20000 rupees per month through a new poverty eradication program focusing on consumption, investment, saving, production and export. Even if people fall into poverty due to stupid and inefficient government policies, it should not be permanent.
