A special meeting between Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe took place in Colombo on Saturday (13).
The discussion was held at Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private residence on 5th Lane, Kollupitiya, Colombo.
According to informed sources, the two leaders engaged in an extensive discussion lasting approximately one and a half hours, during which they exchanged views on the possibility of a merger between the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the United National Party.
The meeting is reported to have followed a separate discussion held at Ranil Wickremesinghe’s residence on the previous day. That discussion was attended by SJB Chairman Kabir Hashim, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara, and Lucky Fonseka, who met with Ranil Wickremesinghe.
