Ruling Party Meeting Turns Violent: MP Gunathilaka Rajapakse Attacked by Mahindananda, Suffers Broken Leg and Hospitalized I Sri Lanka Latest News

member of Parliament Gunathilaka Rajapaksa has been injured and hospitalized due to an argument that occurred during the meeting of the ruling party’s group of members.

Today (03) in the afternoon, the meeting of the ruling party MPs group was held at the presidential secretariat under the chairmanship of Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe.

There, a heated exchange of words took place between MP Gunathilaka Rajapaksa and MP Mahindananda Aluthgama regarding the issue of financial allocation for development programs in Kandy district.

It is reported that Polonnaruwa District Member of Parliament Mr. Jagath Samarawickrama intervened and settled the incident.

However, at the end of the assembly meeting, there was an argument between Mahindananda Aluthgama MP and Gunathilaka Rajapaksa on the stairs.

Sources state that when Mahindananda Aluthgama’s MP tried to push him, Gunathilaka Rajapaksa’s MP fell on the stairs.

It is reported that the MP who was injured in the accident has been admitted to the army hospital for treatment.

The doctors have discovered that Gunathilaka Rajapakse MP has fractured his leg.

In this regard, when the Member of Parliament Mahindananda Aluthgamage was questioned, he mentioned that he did not try to push the MP Gunathilaka Rajapaksa even though he argued.

Member of Parliament Mahindananda Aluthgamage mentioned that the Member of Parliament Jagath Samarawickrama, who saw the argument between the two, came to the place and tried to take the Member of Parliament Gunathilaka Rajapaksa away.
