Road from Kollupitiya Mosque to Rotunda Roundabout Reopened After 19 Years, Easing Traffic Congestion
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The road connecting the Kollupitiya Mosque, near the Araliyagaha Mandira, to the Rotunda Roundabout has been reopened to the public.

On the 11th of this month, the Colombo Municipal Council removed the security booths that had been in place on both sides of the road.

This road had been closed for 19 years, since 2005, due to security concerns.

Following a review of the current security situation, the new government has instructed the reopening of the road, which had remained inaccessible for an extended period.

This decision is expected to ease traffic congestion in the area and provide greater convenience to the public.
