But the weekly English newspapers have reported that she is going to be re-hired for that position on a contract basis with effect from the date of retirement.
The proposal to re-hire Mrs. Liyanage to serve as the Government Press Officer on a contract basis for a period of one year was approved by the Cabinet earlier this month.
