Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) leader Rauff Hakeem, speaking at the UNP anniversary celebrations, stated that everyone is now facing the consequences of changes made to the electoral system. He emphasized that these reforms were implemented during the government of Ranil Wickremesinghe with the intention of weakening and destroying smaller political parties.
Hakeem also highlighted how former President Ranasinghe Premadasa took steps to safeguard the interests of smaller parties.
