According to the Department of Meteorology, some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
There may be foggy conditions in some places in those provinces in the morning.
The department informs that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms after 1.00 pm in many parts of the island.
Northern Province and Trincomalee district may also experience rain in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology advises to take necessary measures to protect against temporary strong winds and lightning hazards that may occur with thunderstorms.
