TNA MP R Sampanthan wrote to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday (18) to revive the Indo-Sri Lanka Peace Treaty in order to find a solution to the country’s long-standing Tamil problem.
A political solution will fail to address the country’s Tamil issues unless the north and east provinces are reunified, as well as police and land powers are restored. He requests that the Indian Prime Minister act in accordance with the Indo-Sri Lanka peace pact and ensure a political solution that will provide much-needed solutions to the region’s Tamils.
The letter was given to the Indian high commissioner to be delivered to the Prime Minister.
