Putin survives attempted assassination

Euro Weekly News reports that Putin survived an assassination attempt. The information was released Wednesday on General GVR Telegram.

The report claimed that the attempt’s timing is unknown. Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February, rumours about Putin’s health and life have circulated.

In 2017, the Russian president said he had escaped five assassination attempts.

According to Telegram, Putin’s limousine’s left front wheel was hit by a loud sound, Euro Weekly reported. The car was soon taken to safety as smoke emerged.

The Russian President was unharmed, but the publication reported arrests.

News.co.au stated that Putin was returning to his official residence in a decoy convoy due to security concerns.

“On the route to the residence, a few kilometres away, the first escort car was blocked by an ambulance, the second escort car drove by without stopping,” according to a channel update.

This comes a week after St. Petersburg politicians asked the State Duma to prosecute Mr. Putin with state treason and remove him from power, citing Russia’s military defeats in Ukraine and economic hardship from Western sanctions.

65 municipal delegates from St. Petersburg, Moscow, and other regions signed a petition demanding for Putin’s resignation, said a local lawmaker.
