The Minister pointed out that since 1994, promises have been made to fight corruption and amend the electoral system, but nothing has been fulfilled, and the current President Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe has already submitted amendments to curb corruption and introduce a proportional electoral system.

Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reform, President’s Counsel Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa mentioned this while attending the news conference held at the Presidential Media Center on the theme ‘One way to a stable country’.

The minister said that two elections will be held in the future and any candidate appearing there can also present their opinion about this election amendment and said that this will enable the people to make a decision in this regard.
