Rumi Reuben, a psychiatrist at Galle Karapitiya Hospital, says that it has been confirmed from research that high temperature can affect both physical and mentally, and children’s mental strength is reduced and they are more likely to forget lessons. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

He also pointed out that extreme heat has caused a large increase in family disputes such as conflicts between parents and children and conflicts between husband and wife.

The expert also mentioned that the research further confirms that the inability to control impulses with the excessive heat felt by the body is the cause of these problems.

He also pointed out that the inability to control these impulses has been the main reason for the increase in road accidents and riots during this period.

Dr. Rumi Reuben also says that excessive heat causes mental illnesses and increases the condition of people currently suffering from anxiety disorders.
