Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa Highlights Party Decision-Making on Elections Amidst Media Inquiry”

Responding to media queries, Namal Rajapaksa emphasized that while there may be differing views within political parties regarding holding elections, the ultimate decision rests with the party itself. He further remarked that the issue of postponing elections isn’t a recent occurrence, citing instances where elections were delayed significantly. Rajapaksa stressed the importance of holding elections as scheduled, drawing attention to past practices during President Mahinda’s tenure. He asserted that the true sentiments of the populace can only be gauged through a general election. Rajapaksa acknowledged the presence of personal opinions within the party but underscored the necessity for unified support towards the electoral process.
