On the special intervention of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, 06 Samagi Jana Balawega MPs have received more than 32 crore rupees in violation of the prescribed procedure for the project reports they submitted.Sri Lanka Latest News

This money has been released by President Ranil Wickramasinghe as Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy without prioritizing the proposals presented by the District Coordination Committee.

Accordingly, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has released an amount of Rupees Five Crore Two Lakhs (Rs. 50,200,000) to Samagi Janabalawega MP Dr. Harshada Silva.

Also, Samagi Jana Balavegaya’s Gampaha District Councilor Ajith Mannaperum has received four million eighty six thousand two hundred and fifty rupees (Rs. 49,986,250) and Samagi Jana Balavegaya’s Gampaha District Councilor Kavinda Jayawardena has also received six million rupees (Rs. 69,000,000). Rs per lakh President Ranil Wickremesinghe has also released an amount of ten lakhs (Rs. 51,000,000).

President Ranil Wickramasinghe also gave a sum of eight million seven thousand three hundred and seventy-six cents (Rs. 81,677,376.94) to Member of Parliament A.H.M Fauci and ten million rupees (Rs. 100,000,000) to Member of Parliament of Anuradhapura District Ranil Wickramasinghe directly has been released.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy has informed the concerned MPs that the provisions of the Circular No. MF/02/2023 and dated 29.12.2023 issued by the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy regarding the Decentralized Budget Program 2024 should be applied in the implementation of these projects.

However, according to those circulars, when reserving the related money, “under the supervision of the regional secretary, at the level of the village official domain, with the participation of the local political representatives, community, community organizations and officials of the government institutions that provide services for the village official domain, by gathering the people of the area and raising sufficient awareness about the program in each village. For officer domain below “2. Projects should be identified according to the sectors mentioned under “Development Sectors”. It is mentioned.

In addition, “the feasibility of the identified projects should be confirmed promptly with the contribution of the relevant government agencies within a week and the list of project proposals of the divisional secretariat should be forwarded to the district secretary with the recommendation of the divisional coordination committee to get the approval of the district coordination committee.” It has also been mentioned.

However, without following that step, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has made arrangements to release money directly to the members of Samagi Janabalawega Dr. Harsha de Silva, Ajith Mannaperuma, Kavinda Jayawardene, Gayantha Karunathilaka, A.H.M. Fauci and Ishaq Rahman.

It is also special that most of the regional coordination committees are chaired by members of parliament from the Pohottu party and neither they nor the 06 members of the Ukta Sajith party have the same privilege.

In addition, it is reported that several opposition MPs have met with the President to discuss giving liquor licenses to their friends, and several have been given such licenses.

The Daily Mirror, which has been released to the market today, has also taken steps to report this as a special story.

Accordingly, many people are of the opinion that these two matters will be discussed in the upcoming meeting of Sajaba members and that the meeting will be heated.
