President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland yesterday (20), who was in London for Queen Elizabeth II’s burial.
The Commonwealth Secretariat and Sri Lanka discussed mutual cooperation extensively. On the 18th, President Ranil Wickramasinghe also attended a reception at Church House hosted by Commonwealth Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development Mr. James Cleverly, where he met with world leaders.
Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickramasinghe, who arrived in London yesterday (20), visited a Buddhist temple and participated in religious ceremonies. The President then inquired about the Chief Sanghanayake of Great Britain, Dr. Bogoda Seelawimala Nayaka, of the London Buddhist Vihara, and participated in a brief discourse.
Venerable Bogoda Seelawimala Nayaka Thero honoured Seth Pirith and wished President Ranil Wickramasinghe well.
