President Meets Australian, Canadian, and Malaysian High Commissioners at Presidential Secretariat

A series of diplomatic meetings took place yesterday afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat, where President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with the Australian, Canadian, and Malaysian High Commissioners to Sri Lanka.

The first meeting was held with the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Paul Stephens. The President extended his best wishes to Mr. Stephens on his upcoming departure from Sri Lanka and expressed appreciation for the support provided by Australia during and after the recent economic crisis faced by the country.

The Australian High Commissioner assured that Australia would continue to assist Sri Lanka in the development of key sectors, including tourism, education, and vocational training.

Later in the afternoon, President Dissanayake met with the Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Eric Walsh. The President conveyed his best wishes to Mr. Walsh for his future endeavors as he concludes his tenure in Sri Lanka.

A subsequent meeting was held with the Malaysian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Badli Hisham bin Adam. Discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding relationship between Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

The Malaysian High Commissioner expressed his readiness to share his experiences and recent achievements with Sri Lanka, particularly in the areas of tourism, trade, and education.
