President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to engage in crucial bilateral discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his official visit to India, scheduled from today (15th) to the 17th.
In addition to meeting with Prime Minister Modi, the President will hold talks with several high-ranking Indian officials, including Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Health Minister J.P. Nadda, National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval, and other prominent diplomats.
A key highlight of the visit will be the President’s participation in a business meeting in New Delhi aimed at strengthening investment opportunities and enhancing trade relations between Sri Lanka and India.
Concluding his visit, President Dissanayake is scheduled to visit Bodh Gaya, a site of immense spiritual and historical significance.
Bodh Gaya is home to the revered Siri Maha Bodhi tree, under which the Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment. Located in the Indian state of Bihar, approximately 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Patna, this ancient tree holds profound religious and cultural importance.
