A high-level discussion on the current security situation in the country was held today (26) at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
During the meeting with senior officers of the Navy, attention was focused on future measures to enhance Sri Lanka’s security. The discussion covered operations conducted at sea to ensure national security, including deep-sea surveillance and measures to combat arms smuggling and drug trafficking via maritime routes.
Deputy Minister of Defense Aruna Jayasekara, Secretary to the Ministry of Defense Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuiyakontha, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, and a group of senior Navy officers were also in attendance.
