Under the theme “Employment is a right”, unemployed graduates protested this afternoon in front of Battaramulla Diyatha Uyana, demanding immediate employment for all unemployed graduates.
They pointed out that about 40,000 graduates are unemployed in the country.
However, the police fired water and tear gas as the protesters did not disperse.
Cars plying on the road and even motorcycles providing goods and stationery transportation services were attacked with water.
