Mr Prasanna Ranatunga, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, said that he believes that Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe was appointed to the presidency by Pohottuwa and that Pohottuwa has no right not to support him in the next presidential election.

The minister also said that if there is no alternative candidate for Pohottuwa in the next presidential election, it is best to support Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe.

The minister also said that he does not see any other alternative candidate for Pohottuwa.

The minister stated this while answering questions raised by journalists after participating in the Galle District Coordination Committee. The Galle District Coordinating Committee was held today (28) at Hall de Gaulle in Galle Fort.
