President Ranil Wickramasinghe said that he will work to secure the political future of all the former public representatives of provincial councils and local government bodies who are coming forward to support him in the upcoming presidential election. Sri Lanka Latest News
The President mentioned this while attending the special meeting of the Forum of Former Local Government Heads organized today (10) at Oak Ray Regency Hotel, Kandy.
Appreciating the program that the President has started for the advancement of the country’s economy, the former heads of local government also assured that they will commit themselves to confirming the victory of the President in the upcoming presidential election.
A document containing the proposals of the forum of former local government heads was also presented to the President.
MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage said here that the Podujana Peramuna group, which is coming together to support President Ranil Wickramasinghe in the upcoming presidential election, will start a new party by next week and the necessary arrangements have already been made.
Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, State Ministers Lohan Ratwatte, Anuradha Jayaratne, Janaka Vakkambura, and former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara were also present on this occasion.
