Minister of Agriculture, Mahinda Amaraweera stated that the Paddy Marketing Board will start purchasing paddy from Wednesday (17) onwards.
Accordingly, the Minister said that rice will be purchased at the following prices in line with Cabinet paper which was approved on15th.
Nadu – Rs. 120/-
Samba – Rs. 125/-
Keeri Samba – Rs. 130/-
The purchased paddy will be released as rice to the market under the brand “PMB rice”, the Minister added.
