Supreme court has decided to hear the petition submitted by Minister Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanakkara to rule the decision taken by Samagi Jana Balawegaya to suspend their party membership null and void Sri Lanka Latest news
The petitions were called before the three-judge bench of the Supreme Court today (10).
President’s counsel Mr. Ronald Perera, who appeared for the petitioner, appeared before the court and asked for an adjournment for filing the counter objections related to the petition.
The lawyers who appeared for the respondent party have informed the court that according to the constitution, the Supreme Court should complete the hearing of the petitions within two months from the date of filing of these petitions.
The three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, which considered the facts presented, ordered the lawyers of the petitioners to file any objections related to these petitions today.
Then the hearing of the petition has been fixed on the 12th as scheduled.
