Government has decided to tax those who have purchased houses from leading apartment complexes to be taxed. Sri Lanka Latest News
According to that decision, the Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department, W.N.A. Wijesuriya recently informed the housing complex management companies in writing calling information.
As tax revenue is very important to recover from the economic crisis that the country is currently facing, the Inland Revenue Commissioner’s written order states to provide information about all the people who have bought houses and are currently residing in those housing complexes.
It further states that this written request will be forwarded to the relevant institutions in accordance with the powers vested in them under Section 123(1) of the Inland Revenue Act.
