Opposition Seeks Full Details of State Discussions on Recent Emergency Response
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The opposition has reportedly decided to request details of all discussions held by state institutions regarding the recent emergency situation that affected the country.

SJB MP Mujibur Rahman stated that this information is being sought because it is essential for the public to understand how these institutions responded when a major disaster struck, and how government officials acted during the crisis.

Accordingly, information on discussions conducted by the Meteorology Department, Disaster Management Centre, Irrigation Department, and the National Building Research Organisation regarding weather conditions between November 11 and November 26 will be formally requested.

In addition, MP Mujibur Rahman is seeking records—both written and video—of meetings held via Zoom by responsible officials. He noted that he will visit the relevant institutions the day after tomorrow to make these requests in writing.

The MP further stated that once the information is obtained, he intends to present it to Parliament.

He also warned that legal action will be taken if these institutions fail to provide the requested information due to any form of influence.
