During the press conferences held at the head office of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, the faces of all the Rajapaksa’s as well as the Pohottu logo, could be seen from time to time on the back screen.
But due to the crisis situation in recent days, the party authorities had taken steps to remove the faces of Mahinda Rajapaksa, Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Basil Rajapaksa and display only the Pohottu logo.
It is reported that as soon as this was publicized by the media, the MPs representing the party’s ground level have continuously called the party office asking for the reasons.
It is said that a group of MPs who are upset with the fact that some media have reported that Namal Rajapaksa’s face is planned to be included in it, have protested against it and have taken steps to inform the party office that it is still too early to include Namal’s face in it.
However, it is reported that the party authorities have given different answers to these questions and a long discussion round has been held to take a final decision in this regard.
Under this background, it has been learned that the party authorities have now decided to remove the faces of Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Mr. Basil Rajapaksa and instead display only the face of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Pohottu symbol.
