Sri Lanka Freedom party held the annual all- night pirth chanting in memory of the party’s founder Mr S.W.R.D Bandaranayake and Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranayake last night (31) at the kataragama Pooja grounds.
This time, it was organised by a group including Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and Member of Parliament Duminda Dissanayake, who were removed recently from their positions by the party’s executive board.
Due to that, the leaders of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, including the current chairman the former president Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and the party’s general secretary Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara, did not participate in this celebration.
However, it is special that the party’s former chairman, the leader of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and a group of people joined the ceremony.
