The new Turkish envoy to Sri Lanka presented his credentials to President Ranil Wickremesinghe today. Ambassador Semih Lütfü Turgut, representing the Republic of Türkiye, will be based in Colombo. His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut is the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Sri Lanka and Maldives.
Ambassador Semih is highly experienced in foreign service, having previously served in numerous roles for the Republic of Türkiye. His past positions include foreign policy advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Culture in 2013-14, and various capacities in the embassies of the USA, Italy, and Pakistan.
