A cordial meeting took place yesterday afternoon (May 8) at the Wijerama official residence between the newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Ihab I.M. Khalil, and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
During the discussion, both parties reflected on the history of the Sri Lanka–Palestine Friendship Association, highlighting its establishment and the former President’s role as its Chairman. The longstanding friendship and consistent cooperation between the two nations were fondly remembered.
Former President Rajapaksa extended his appreciation to Ambassador Khalil, expressing gratitude for the enduring and close relationship shared between Sri Lanka and Palestine.
