MP Kaushalya Ariyaratne Files Complaint with CID Over False Social Media Allegations
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

National People’s Power (NPP) Colombo District Parliamentarian Kaushalya Ariyaratne has lodged a formal complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), addressing the spread of false news about her on social media platforms.

In her complaint, MP Ariyaratne has urged authorities to take swift action against individuals responsible for disseminating these baseless and malicious allegations.

Following her CID filing, she shared a statement on her social media account, expressing her stance on the issue:

“Today, I officially filed a complaint with the CID regarding the malicious and entirely false news circulating about me on social media, particularly those targeting me personally.

To those attempting to push women out of politics using such despicable tactics, we say – try harder! If you believe you can destabilize a government formed by a collective movement through such futile efforts, keep trying for the rest of your life!

Despite the efforts of politically marginalized groups engaging in these petty conspiracies, we remain steadfast in our journey.”

MP Ariyaratne’s response underscores her determination to counteract misinformation and uphold her commitment to her political duties despite challenges.
