Magamani Dayani (26), a mother of one and her one-year-old daughter, who lived in Logi Estate under Lidula police domain, have died.
Police say that Magamani Dayani wrote a three-page letter stating that she and the child are being harassed by her husband and her husband’s family members and that letter along with her marriage certificate and national identity card were found near the lake.
Police Inspector Sisira Kumara said that it is suspected that the woman jumped into the lake near her house in Lidula Logi Estate with the infant and committed suicide.
The police claimed that the woman’s body was floating in the lake, and infant’s body was missing in the lake.
