The mother of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi passed away today (30) around 3.30 a.m., the hospital in Ahmedabad where she was undergoing treatment reported.
According to reports, Prime Minister Modi, who was on duty in New Delhi, immediately departed for Ahmedabad, Maharashtra, and his duties will be carried out via video technology.
Hiraben, who is 99 years old, was recently hospitalised for age-related problems.
At that time, the physicians stated that they would do all possible to save her life.
Prime Minister Modi offered his condolences on Twitter for the demise of his mother.
