Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation, K. D. Lalkantha, has called on farmers to take necessary actions to protect their crops from damage caused by animals, including wild boars, emphasizing that there are no legal barriers to doing so.

“The wild boar issue has escalated into a significant problem, often referred to as ‘wild boar terrorism.’ Farmers must know that there are no legal restrictions preventing them from taking appropriate measures on their land to safeguard their crops from these animals. We urge them to act within their capacity to mitigate the damage caused,” Minister Lalkantha stated.

He further assured that the Ministry is actively working on a comprehensive solution to this pressing issue. “As the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation, we have taken the responsibility to address this problem. I want to assure everyone that we will find a resolution before it’s too late,” he added.

Minister Lalkantha made these remarks during a parliamentary session held yesterday (December 5).
