The director general of the Meteorological Department, Mr Atula Karunanayake, told ‘Mawrata’ that the current hot weather condition will continue until the weather changes to a situation where there will be significant rain after April 15. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

After the 22nd of this month, a little rain can be expected in the Western, South, North-West and Sabaragamuwa provinces in the evening or at night, but it is not enough to reduce the current hot condition, he said.

Mr. Atula Karunanayake said that during the period from April 5th to April 15th, due to the passing of the sun over Sri Lanka, the current hot condition will further increase.

He further mentioned that after April 15th, the hot weather conditions that have been affecting the island will gradually subside after receiving significant rains affecting the entire island.
