The 73rd Sri Lanka Air Force Day is on March 02. For that purpose, the Sri Lanka Air Force has organized many special programs with the theme of “Wings of Friendship” this year. Sri Lanka Latest News

The celebration of Sri Lanka Air Force Day will be started by giving priority to the Picchamal Pooja and all religious ceremonies at the Kelaniya Rajamaha Temple and this year also the Air Force Salute Parade will be held at the Air Force Headquarters.

According to Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapakse, Air Force Day is expected to be celebrated by focusing on quality education and environmental sustainability and spearheading community development programs centred on the northern provinces by the sustainable development objectives of the United Nations.

Accordingly, 73 schools to be developed have been identified covering the five districts of Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu in the Northern Province and the development of those schools has already started and the estimated amount for that is 100 million.

Under that program, 73000 books will be awarded to selected schools and it is estimated that 25 million rupees will be spent for this.

Air Tattoo 2024 – Technological, Educational Exhibition will be held from March 6th to 10th at Mutraveli Stadium, Jaffna.

There will be an exhibition of aircraft and resources of the Sri Lanka Air Force awareness about the work of the Air Force and technical education.

The show includes parachute shows, aerial stunts, dances, disaster response shows, dog fights, dog shows, and drone shows.

The exhibition also provides an opportunity for students from schools and universities in the Northern Province to showcase their innovative devices and the exhibition is completely free for school students.

A decommissioned aircraft engine used by the Air Force, which can be used for students’ education, will be donated to the University of Jaffna.

Also, at the same time, the project of distributing seventy-three thousand saplings across the island, as well as the Sri Lankan Air Force Friendship Challenge Cup, which is the largest bicycle ride in Sri Lanka, will be held for five days.

Air Vice Marshal Muditha Mahawatta will take the initiative for all these activities and Northern Governor P.S.M. The Sri Lanka Air Force says that the generous support of Mrs. Charles and the Jaffna Chamber of Commerce will be provided for this.

All the expenses for these social cares etc. are done without government intervention and the Air Force requests the public to make a big contribution to it both domestically and abroad and further support it.
