The Western Province High Court of Civil Appeal ordered the dismissal of the appeal filed by former President Maithripala Sirisena subject to a fee of 21,000 rupees.
The order has been issued by the bench of judges Sanjeeva Moraes and Frank Gunawardena.
Mr. Maithripala Sirisena had filed this petition requesting that the Colombo District Court reject all the cases filed against him for the compensation of the victims of the Easter attack and issue an order freeing him from those cases.
The victims have filed 108 cases before the Colombo District Court against former President Maithripala Sirisena and others for not taking action to prevent the Easter Sunday terrorist attack despite receiving sufficient intelligence.
