Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage today (14) filed a petition before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court, seeking release on bail in anticipation of his possible arrest by the Bribery Commission. The petition is in relation to the alleged importation of a substandard organic fertilizer shipment during the tenure of the previous government.
Following the submission, Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali has issued notice to the Bribery Commission, directing it to present its case before the court on May 19.
