The venerable Maha Nayaka Theroes  of the Thri Niyayas say that the president’s statement regarding the implementation of the 13th constitutional amendment has caused confusion in the country.

Today (02) a letter written by the Trinitarian patriarchs has been handed over to the President with the title “On the bad effects of enforcing the 13th constitutional amendment”.

They have further mentioned that the Maha Sangha has emphasized that the 13th constitutional amendment, which creates serious problems regarding the country’s independence, territorial integrity and national security, should not be enforced at all.
