Seeing little Vaisali’s with her hand, cut off near the wrist, her fellow students and teachers burst into tears.
When Shanti Vaisali, a student of Jaffna Hindu Primary School, went back to school, she was welcomed by her fellow students with a bouquet of flowers to encourage her, the school development association and the principal along with the teaching staff organized a special event.
There, the School Development Society agreed to provide all possible facilities for her future and several other voluntary organizations in Jaffna have come forward to encourage her.
A medical team from the Jaffna Teaching Hospital has volunteered to provide the necessary psychiatric treatment to this eight-year-old girl.
The trial regarding the girl is scheduled to be heard again on the 27th of this month.
