Launch of a new South-South co-operation programme under the joint OECD-UNDP Tax Inspectors Without Borders Initiative (TIWB) I Sri Lanka Latest News

As part of the UNDP Tax for SDGs Initiative to tackle tax evasion and illicit financial flows, the Government of Sri Lanka with the support of the Kingdom of Morocco jointly launched a South-South co-operation programme under the Tax Inspectors Without Borders Initiative (TIWB) initiative. The TIWB programme will focus on the audit of multinational enterprises and enhancing the capacity of the Sri Lankan tax administration on the subject of transfer pricing. The launch event was attended by Mr. Ranjith Hapuarachchi, Commissioner General, Inland Revenue Department (IRD), Sri Lanka; Ms. Azusa Kubota, Resident Representative, UNDP in Sri Lanka; Mr. Ben Dickinson, Head of the Global Relations and Development Division (GRD), Centre for Tax Policy and Administration (CTP), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD); Ms. Rusudan Kemularia, Head of the TIWB Secretariat, CTP/GRD, OECD; Mr. Younes Idrissi Kaitouni, Director General, Direction Générale des Impôts (DGI), Morocco; Ms. Kalale Mambwe, Project Manager, TIWB, CTP/GRD, OECD; and Mr. Sudarshan Kasturirangan, Regional Programme Specialist for Asia and the Pacific, UNDP.
