Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture disclosed during a State Finance Committee meeting that prominent millers in Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura have been purchasing paddy from farmers and storing the stocks in their own homes.
Director Anura Wijethunga confirmed that relevant information regarding this practice has been received by the ministry.
