Lanka Private Bus Owners: No Fare Increase Despite Diesel Price Hike
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, Gemunu Wijeratne, has confirmed that there will be no changes to bus fares despite the recent increase in diesel prices announced during the fuel price revision yesterday (30).

Speaking at a press conference held this morning (01), Wijeratne addressed the matter, stating:

“Fuel prices have been revised once again as part of the monthly price adjustments. This time, the price of auto diesel, which we use, has increased by Rs. 3.

Last month, the price saw a reduction. However, this minor increase will not lead to a revision of bus fares. We are operating within the existing framework and will continue to do so.”

The decision ensures stability in transportation costs for commuters, despite fluctuations in fuel prices.
