Lanka Metro Transit (Pvt) Ltd, a newly established entity aimed at strengthening Sri Lanka’s urban public transport system, officially commenced its administrative operations today (October 8).
Established as an urban transport service organization, Lanka Metro Transit Ltd seeks to streamline and modernize public transport across major city corridors through integrated and multimodal transport solutions.
According to officials, the company is preparing to begin its transport operations by the middle of next year and is currently finalizing the required infrastructure and operational frameworks to facilitate this launch.
Through this initiative, it is expected to provide a more efficient and convenient transport experience for the public in Sri Lanka’s busy urban areas.
