The Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security, and Community Empowerment has announced an increase in the kidney patient allowance, raising it from Rs. 7,500 to Rs. 10,000.

According to the Ministry, a total of 47,244 kidney patients, identified at the Divisional Secretariat level, are currently benefiting from this allowance.

Addressing circulating rumors, the Ministry firmly stated that claims suggesting the kidney patient allowance has not been increased are entirely false. It further emphasized that payments for all allowances, including the kidney allowance, ‘Aswesuma,’ fertilizer subsidy, and fisheries subsidy, have been adjusted upwards.
